OUR BACKGROUND
Nicofeli Youth/Kids Club is duly registered by the government of Kenya under the Ministry of Gender, Culture and Social Services as a Community Based Organization [CBO]. It started in 2007 and became active immediately after the post-poll skirmishes in early 2008. The birth of the club was inspired by socio-economic challenges and illiteracy levels amongst residents of Kibera. The club thus far has brought on board more than 300 youths and kids. The through its affiliated Hope Library, the club sponsors reading programs, fostering adult-child relationships as well as literacy.
OUR VISION
The club’s vision is to establish an all inclusive resource centre meeting the needs of kids and youths, with the goal of empowering them, promoting their talents, and improving their standards of living.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide a variety of organized activities, some through strategic partnerships with other concerned organizations. These include entrepreneurship training, information provision (including access to Hope Library), counseling, sports, community mobilization and sensitization, networking, and outreach to the wider communities in Kibera and beyond.
